“Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. It does not dishonour others, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs.”

1 Corinthians 13:4-5

The bible is just one spiritual guidebook, but this truth is found in nearly all spiritual traditions.

We often forget that love is the basis of all of life and all things. Energetically, love is the highest vibration of all. We, as humans, can put different meanings to it.

From the moment we are born, we are told we are loved (hopefully), but it is often conditional. It may well be that you only end up being shown love by your family if you behave in a certain way or if you do certain things. Then, our ideas of what love is, becomes reinforced by friends, school, and the media. This has become even worse with social media showing us that we are only loved if we show up looking beautiful and perfect. As we grow older, our romances also give us ideas about what love is, depending on the nature of that romance, no matter how much those might be from the truth.

How many of you have “changed” who you are just to be loved or seemingly loved?

You see, true love is unconditional.

Love is not based on need, desire, or acts of connection. It simply is.

It allows us to act out of a place of wholeness, rather than a place of pain or desire.

It is a conscious commitment and involves ongoing healing and work.

When I hosted an evening of unconditional love in March 2021, I was channelling the energies and words of Jesus and Mary Magdalene. This was what Mary had to say about unconditional love

“Unconditional Love is the purest form of love that can ever be, and it is when you are able to you transcend to that level that you can really see everything for what it is meant to be. Sometimes, it can all get lost, in the fact that society has taught you differently. Or you have been conditioned to believe that you can care for others but not for yourself. A lot of you have forgotten how divine you are. Being a human being is to be both divine and human, and to recognise that you deserve the life that you desire, the love, that you desire, but it must start with you.”

Jesus’s words were “you are no less than any man no less than any other. You are made whole, by your divine essence and, by your humanity. Never forget in your striving for spiritual ascension, which is your job here is also to be human. To live a human life as best you can. Really try to peel back the layers of conditioning which could have come from past lives, ancestral patterns, conditioning in this lifetime live from your heart.”

Loving yourself is critical to building a solid foundation of connection to your oneness, so that you then can own your value and your worthiness, so that you can see other people and situations from a non-conditional perspective.

It’s not easy, which is why it’s an ongoing conscious commitment.

When you love yourself unconditionally, you will soon find that you will attract that sort of love back into your life. People will love you for who you are and will not try to change you. You will know your own boundaries and will not accept the fake conditional love that has been on offer before.

Be the change you want to see by practicing self-love. Love is the highest vibration of all.

Look at yourself and say, “I love you.”

Practice self-care.

Buy yourself a bunch of flowers.

Whatever it is that lifts your spirits – do that.

Treat yourself as you would like others to treat you.

This then reverses the “I am not worthy” belief as you are showing yourself that you are valued, that you are worth it.

Speak your truth. Not everyone will agree with you, but hey- that is fine.

Give yourself a hug, smile.

By making these changes and by loving yourself more, your outer reality will change for the better.

Go on, give it a go.
