Divorce is noted as one of the hardest things we go through in life. The current system is very masculine and archaic, even though there is now a “no fault” petition.
As well as the actual process and system – there is a lot of emotion to navigate as you are walking away from a long-term relationship and blame, and shame may also be attributed.
I was a family lawyer for over 20 years working with many clients helping them transition through divorce. The common thread between all these clients is that they needed to be listened to and understood as every case is unique. This was so important, however, I used to get told off by the managing partners for giving too much time… and so by own venture was born…
